Värmlands Christmas Gasque

Over the weekend, I attended the Christmas gasque at Värmlands nation. Earlier in the blog, I explained what a gasque is, and it's on the Uppsala vocabulary list on the side if you forget.

The dinner was a julbord, or Christmas Buffet, complete with all of the Swedish Christmas classics, and lots and lots of different meats.

We also heard a performance from the choir, which was incredible. Choir singing, I'm told, is the second most popular pastime in Sweden (to horseback riding).

Overall, the gasque was a lot of singing, fun, and Christmas feeling! And, one of the last times I got to be all together with my friends I met on the first day I arrived, since Kristin is going back to Switzerland, Jan to Germany, and Gregor to Austria.
