As the UF Travel Group prepares for our trip to Romania (in November), we have been learning about Romania from a foreign (and domestic) political perspective. On Thursday, we went to the Romanian Embassy in Stockholm. The Romanian Ambassador to Sweden gave us a brief lecture on Romanian history and internal politics, and was very honest and forward about the perspectives of the government, and about the government's hopes for the future of Romania. We have a few more Romanian-centered events coming up before the trip to Bucharest, and then during the trip to Bucharest, there will be quite a few updates as well.
If I haven't said enough about UF already, or you want to learn more about the organization, visit their website! I also frequently attend their many interesting lectures, and am part of the activity group meeting.
The Embassy had Fika set up for us upon arrival. The building itself is also quite historical - read about the history here.
